IT, Automotive, and Banking Remain Top Choices for Romanian Job Seekers in 2024

Despite a widespread shortage of skilled labor in Romania, certain industries continue to attract top talent. The 2024 Employer of Choice ranking reveals that IT, automotive, and banking remain among the most sought-after sectors for job seekers this year.


IT Dominates the Top Positions

The ranking, conducted by Catalyst Solutions, highlights the enduring appeal of the IT industry, with three out of the top five spots being occupied by IT companies. Microsoft takes the coveted first place for the third consecutive year, followed by Google and Oracle.


Microsoft: Fostering Employee Development and Well-being

Microsoft Romania's HR Director, Adina Vidroiu, attributes the company's success in attracting and retaining talent to its commitment to employee development and well-being. "We are dedicated to cultivating a work environment that promotes the growth and well-being of our employees," Vidroiu states. "It is encouraging to see that our vision and commitment to putting employees first have a positive impact. This motivates us to continue focusing on these vital aspects for our organization."


Continental: Shaping the Future of Mobility

Continental, a mainstay in the automotive industry, maintains its strong position in the ranking. "The over 20,300 #peopleofcontinental in the country shape the future of mobility every day," remarks Dr. Christian von Albrichsfeld,Country Head Continental Romania & General Manager Continental Automotive Romania. "This is achieved not only through the technologies developed and the products manufactured but also through the organizational culture in which they work together as a team – whether local, national, or international."


Bosch: Continuous Growth and Attractive Employer

Bosch, another long-standing presence in the top rankings, emphasizes the alignment of its employer branding efforts with both candidate and business needs. "The recognition as one of the most desired employers at national level confirms that the initiatives, projects, and partnerships we develop meet the needs of candidates and employees," explains Cristina Corello, Director of Human Resources at Bosch Romania. The 2024 ranking also introduces a "Top New Entry" category, highlighting companies making their first appearance in the Top 100 Most Desired Employers list. London Stock Exchange Group, Finastra, ING Hubs Romania, Intel, and The Access Group stand out among the newcomers, impressing with their management practices, organizational culture, and employee benefits.


Overall, the 2024 Employer of Choice ranking underscores the continued attractiveness of IT, automotive, and banking industries for Romanian job seekers.
