Romanians continue to shock the authorities! An agricultural cooperative in Botoșani is accused of illegally obtaining 1 million lei from APIA.

A cooperative managed to obtain huge sums of money from APIA, although the owners of the company did not have this right.


What the authorities have discovered is beyond anything.

The management of the Cozancea Farm Agricultural Cooperative in Botoșani is currently facing serious accusations from the National Anti-Corruption Directorate prosecutors.


The company is suspected of fraud in obtaining APIA subsidies worth almost one million lei. Money wrongfully taken from APIA

The husband and wife who run the cooperative are accused of using false documents to obtain APIA subsidies, causing a prejudice of 988,883 lei to the Agency for Payments and Interventions in Agriculture.


According to the indictment, the two allegedly filed false documents and statements in the agricultural campaigns of 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015, in order to unfairly receive subsidies for the land intended for grazing in the commune of Blândești.

Anti-corruption prosecutors have decided to bring the two to trial on charges of using or presenting in bad faith false documents or statements for the purpose of fraudulently obtaining European funds.


Also, precautionary measures have been instituted on several properties owned by the two defendants, who are also representatives of the Cozancea Farm agricultural cooperative.

The file was sent to the Botoșani Court for trial, with the proposal to maintain the precautionary measures ordered in the case.


In another case, the European Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation against three farmers from Galați, suspected of fraud with European funds worth 1.7 million euros.

They allegedly accessed funds for the design of irrigation systems, and prosecutors say they manipulated the procurement procedure so that the works would be awarded to a company registered in the name of the mother of one of them.


The suspects allegedly used false documents to do this, and after eight house searches, all those involved were heard at the European Prosecutor's Office in Iași.

The three farmers are now being investigated for fraud with European funds and have been placed under judicial control, being prohibited from contacting other parties involved in the process.
