TAROM, the national airline of Romania, has unveiled its newest aircraft, named after the iconic Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci. The Boeing 737-800, previously named "Sarmizegetuza," will now bear the name of the five-time Olympic gold medalist and holder of the first-ever perfect 10 score in gymnastics history.
Honoring a Romanian Legend
The renaming ceremony took place at Bucharest's Henri Coandă International Airport, attended by Comăneci herself,TAROM officials, and Romanian athletes. The aircraft's exterior now features Comăneci's name and signature, a tribute to her remarkable achievements and enduring legacy.

"It is an honor to have my name associated with TAROM and to be a symbol of Romanian sporting excellence," said Comăneci. "I wish the best of luck to all the Romanian athletes competing in the Paris Olympics."
